Surrendering your Great Dane
Situations arise in life that cause difficult decisions to be made. We understand. Having to give up a pet is extremely hard. We will do our best to ease the concerns that re-homing a pet can have.
Danes that we take into rescue are fostered in a loving family environment where they are treated as a family pet until a forever placement can be found. Our foster families go through the same process as our adopters.
Our Danes receive medical care, if needed, which includes spay/neuter, vaccines and wellness exams. If additional care is required, that is also provided.
This process is not only upsetting to you and your family, it is also hard for your pet. We ask that when surrendering your pet, you provide some familiar articles (such as a favorite toy, blanket or dog bed), to help make this transition easier.
Please provide all paperwork related to your Dane (vaccination records, medical records, etc.) to the Rescue. If your Dane is currently taking any medication, provide that to us also.
Help us to provide your Dane with the right family and best care it needs by being honest and open with your answers. This will allow Regal Dane Rescue the best opportunity in finding a wonderful home for your Dane.
